Rock Out
Today was another great day for a photo shoot. I spent the early afternoon with Lara and her son Tyler. Tyler is getting started with his new band and needed some promotional photos. Thanks to this photo shoot I also got to see all the cool new locations in the new expanded Avon Park, aka Washington Township Park. I really had to work at finding my edgy rocker side - and Tyler's. I hope we pulled it off!

Can I have more of that Hennessey... er, Harrison?
OK, so you're probably sick of my constant blogging, but well, it's addicting. Soooo... Will and I went over to our long time friend's house - Chris and his wife Erica. Chris wanted to show us some time capsule high school video footage that was probably better left in the time capsule. However, by the end of the night we were left rolling with laughter, gasping for breath and/or nearly peeing our pants from the hilarity that ensued. While, I didn't get any laughter shots - because I was too busy participating - I did get some nice shots of Chris and Erica's new bar. Enjoy.
Avon Class of 2011
I finally booked a group of seniors who trusted me with their photographs. Rachel, Lindsay, Courtney, and MacKenzie were super fun to work with. They thought they weren't very creative, but they were open to all my suggestions and had some good ideas of their own. Once again, thank you to Beasley's Orchard for the setting. These ladies have been friends for a long time, and this is their final year of high school and they wanted to commemorate it with a special photo session. Good Luck with the rest of your senior year. You were a blast to work with and I hope you had fun! Don't worry, I'll leave the port-o-potty picture for your eyes only :).

Apples to Apples
Ahh, we are finally enjoying some more temperate weather here in central Indiana. Today I don't think the temperature even got to 70 degrees. This is my favorite time of year, it's great getting outside, and great for shooting photographs. Today I had the opportunity to shoot some family photos for Erin and her kids. We enjoyed the great weather at Beasley's Apple Orchard in Danville. Erin and I work together and I am very happy to give her some updated family portraits. Here's a few photos to tide you over.

Pretty in Pink ~ Ryelle: 3 months.
Today I had the opportunity to photograph 3 month old baby Ryelle. She was so adorable and as you can tell below, she is very much the girly girl. I love all the pink and green accents in her room. It was a beautiful day and we had great light! I wanted to get a few sneak peeks up online... I'm still editing, but wanted to give mom and dad a few highlights. Luckily for me I get to see this little one at family gatherings, Ryelle is the daughter of my husbands cousin, Leslie - see if you can follow that one - Will's second cousin? :)

Baby Mason
When long time friends Melissa and Jamie announced that they were pregnant, I couldn't have been happier. I followed Melissa through her pregnancy and you can see her maternity pictures in my earlier posts. Parenthood has taken these two on a roller coaster, but things have settled down and they were very sweet to let me photograph baby Mason. Melissa and Jamie are going to be great parents!!

Need a good laugh?
There comes a point in some people's lives where they lose their inhibitions and say exactly what is on their mind. Some people don't develop that filter between what they think and what they say. Or, if they do, they learn to ignore it. I married just such a person. Luckily for him he has found a group of several other like-minded individuals who have been brought together by improv and sketch comedy. They all have an outlet for the social commentary and silliness - and even better people pay to watch it!
Last night Three Dollar Bill Comedy teamed up with Paul Poteet and Tom Davis (of former WRTV6 fame) @ ComedySportz Theatre for an evening of comedy to support the Pat Tillman Foundation. I lucked into a front row seat - well my mother-in-law reserved them and had an extra for me - and these are some of the shots I got.

I am not a human being having a spiritual experience. I am a spiritual being having a human experience." *
Hello again, I felt it was time to post again. I have been very busy the last week. I finished editing my senior photo shoot for Kiersten. I really hope she loves her photos. I've had inquiries for photos from several people around the community that I hope to book soon. I've been doing a lot of reading and researching into the field of photography. I have been really inspired by several great photographers and their blogs. I am so grateful for the invention of the internet because it has allowed me to absorb all of this information so quickly. By the way, B&H Photo is highly addicting, and I'm already starting my Christmas wish list - No, seriously, I did!! I really feel like I am moving in the right direction. I am also very glad to have such wonderful friends around me that are allowing me to photograph them or their children. Thank you so much for helping me out and also for sharing my name with others. That kind of support really keeps me motivated. It feels really good to have found something that feels good and feels right to be passionate about. I know I have a lot to learn, but I just picked up my digital camera for the first time with the real intention to use it in May, when I took these shots of my nieces and nephew.
So I felt pretty good about these photos and thought I might be able to actually do this!! Since May, just 4 months ago, I could never have imagined that photography would have taken off the way it did. I didn't plan it, it just kind of took over, which is why I feel even more compelled to follow it. I hope to write again soon with more news, and more photos!!
As always, I am always open to new ideas and new opportunities to get outside my comfort zone and try something different. Please pass my name along to anyone you think might need my services. Thanks for stopping by!!
