Indy Fringe {2013 Indy Fringe Festival}

As I am writing this, it is currently raining ice from the sky.  But let's not think about that, let's remember when it was warm and we were able to walk around Mass Ave. Indianapolis in shorts and tank tops!  The 2013 Indy Fringe festival was a fabulous and eclectic mix of the region's most interesting and passionate artists.  From dancers to singers, to performance artists to actors or magicians and many more, the streets and theaters were filled with performances for 2 weeks straight.  Here are a few of the images I captured as part of the Festival's media coverage! Late summer/Fall starts my busy season, which is why I'm just now able to get these online.  If you want to know more about the artists featured in this slideshow please visit:

Abby & Nate {Indianapolis Engagement Photography}

Love is in the air.  I love the challenge of getting couples to open up and show their true emotion toward one another in front of the camera.  Abby and Nate were a blast to work with and I think we really captured their personalities.  Downtown Indianapolis was a particularly important setting for these images as the couple now calls Indy home.  I love the colors in these images.  Best of luck to them as they plan their wedding this June!  Congratulations!!

Carrie {Avon Class of 2014}

Summer is prime time for senior portraits. We shot Carrie's images on a warm summer's evening in Brownsburg. We tried to fight off as many mosquitos as we could with the bug spray, but I think the mosquitos won. Carrie is a very talented musician and a member of the Avon Marching Black and Gold, not to mention a super sweet girl. We met through the Distinguished Young Women program earlier in the year. I really enjoyed sharing these images with her family. I hope you enjoy them too!

Riley Hospital For Children {Remember Me Now}

One of the greatest things I think I can do as a human being is give.  I want to always be in a position to have enough to give to other people, and share and invest in their lives.  In 2013 I was asked to join a very special program at Riley Hospital for Children called "Remember Me Now".  This is a program funded through the Riley Children's Foundation and Women for Riley.  This program provides professional photography for critically or terminally ill children and their families free of charge.  The sessions take place in a child's hospital room.  I usually have to suit up for isolation precautions.  Many of these families have lived at the hospital or the Ronald Mcdonald house for weeks if not months while their child fights for their life.  I have had the distinct honor of giving some of these families their first, and for others, their last, family portraits.  I have not posted sooner because of the acuteness of what these families have gone through.  I feel that enough time has passed to respectfully celebrate these awesome children and parents in these images.  I also want to shine the light on the great program at Riley.  I hope that "Remember Me Now" can continue to be funded through the foundation grants.

You can find more information on Remember Me Now at the Riley Children's Foundation.
Please leave some encouragement for these families in the comments below.

Avon's Distinguished Young Women 2013-2014

One of the most exciting events I was asked to participate in this summer was Avon's Distinguished Young Women Program (formerly Jr. Miss).  This is a scholarship program to showcase talented young women about to enter their last year of high school.  I was a participant when I was in high school and have been active on and off with the committee in the past.  They have a full summer of fundraising, and community service, a full week of rehearsals and show prep, followed by a lengthly program right before school starts.  Ask any of these young ladies, if you are considering participating… DO IT, you won't' regret it!  Meet the amazing, talented and brave contestants of the Class of 2014.  This year's winner was Madelyn Hayes.  The state competition is THIS week in Frankfort, IN.  Good Luck Madelyn!

Please let me know if you'd like more information on the program and I can put you in touch!
